Graduates of each of our teacher education programs are awarded an American Montessori Society (AMS) Certificate, an internationally recognized credential. The AMS is a leading international member organization and advocate for quality Montessori education and teacher training. Successful graduates are qualified to teach children in Montessori environments around the world. Each program course is taught in English by international, credentialed staff, with respect for multilingual and multicultural environments.
Duhovka Institute offers Montessori teacher education and training in three locations: Prague (CZ), Amelia Island (Florida, USA) and Hamar (NOR). The Early Childhood and Elementary I-II hold Full Affiliate status with the American Montessori Society and are accredited by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE).

Early Childhood
Adult Learner gain competencies to teach in a mixed age Montessori Early Childhood (2.5 – 6) classroom. The program is comprised of an Academic Phase with a minimum of 361 hours and a Practicum Phase with minimum of 540 hours. Adult learners undertake a practicum in an approved classroom under the supervision and guidance of an advisor.
Elementary
Adult Learners gain competencies to teach in a mixed age Montessori Lower Elementary (6-9) or Upper Elementary (9-12) classroom. The program consists of Academic Phase with a minimum of 401/611 hours and a Practicum Phase with minimum of 1,080 hours. Adult learners undertake a practicum in the relevant level of Elementary Montessori classroom under the supervision and guidance of an advisor.
Early Childhood Overview
An online introduction to Montessori education and philosophy consisting of 40 hours of theoretical and practical classes. Individual modules allow you to explore the foundations of Montessori pedagogy. This compulsory, pre-requisite course is free for certificate program participants who do not hold an approved Early Childhood credential.
